የታላቁ የኢትዮጵያ ህዳሴ ግድብን በሚመለከት ጠ/ሚ ዐቢይ አሕመድ (ዶ/ር) ምን አሉ ?

" ህዳሴ አልቋል። ህዳሴን እናስመርቃለን። ህዳሴ ከመመረቁ በፊት ' ብንረብሽ ' ብለው የሚያስቡ ሰዎች አሉ ፤ እናስመርቃለን።

ህዳሴን እንዳይመረቅ ለማድረግ የሚያስችል ነገር አሁን የለም። የሚመረቀውም አሁን ነው ነገ ክረምቱ ሲያልቅ።

ለታችኛው ተፋሰስ ሀገራት ያለኝ መልዕክት ህዳሴ ለሱዳን ህዳሴ ለግብፅ በረከት ነው። በፍጹም ጉዳት አያመጣባቸውም። ኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ ያለው ልማት ልማታቸው ነው ኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ ያለው ኢነርጂ ለሁሉም ጎረቤቶች የሚዳረስ ነው።

የኛ ግድብ የታችኛው ተፋሰስ ሀገራትን የሚጎዳ ቢሆን ኖሮ ቱርካና አጀንዳ አይሆንም ነበር። ታስታውሳላችሁ ግቤ 3 ሲሰራ 'ቱርካና ይደርቃል የሚል ከፍተኛ ችግር ነበር። እንኳን ሊደርው ከግድቡ በኋላ ይኸው ሞልቶ እያስቸገረ ነው ያለው።

አሁንም ግብፅ ብትሄዱ የግብፅ አስዋን ግድብ አንድ ሊትር ውሃ አልቀነሰም። ወደፊትም ኢትዮጵያ እስከበለጸገች ድረስ እስካለች ድረስ የግብፅ ወንድሞቻችንን ጉዳት እኛ አናይም ተባብረን ከወንድሞቻች ጋር ማደግ እንፈልጋለን።

ግብፅ እንድትጎዳ ፣ ሱዳን እንድትጎዳ አንፈልግም። ኢነርጂውን በጋራ እንጠቀማለን ውሃውን በጋራ እንጠቀማለን ልማት በጋራ ይመጣል። ንግግር ካስፈለገ እንነጋገራለን ችግር የለም።

እኛ ለረጅም ጊዜ ስናነሳ የነበረው ' አትስሩ ' አትበሉን ነው ያልነው እንጂ በኛ ገንዘብ በኛ ምድር የሚሰራውም ስራ አታግዱ ነው ያልነው እንጂ ያን እስካልከለከሉ ድረስ አሁንም ከግብፆች ጋር ለመነጋገር፣ ለመደራደር ፣ ለመስራት ኢትዮጵያ ዝግጁ ናት፤ምንም ችግር የለብንም።

በእርግጠኝነት የምናገረው ህዳሴ ለግብፅም ለሱዳንም ጉዳት አያመጣም።

በዚሁ አጋጣሚ በኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ ትልቁ የስልጣን ባለቤት ይህ የተከበረው ምክር ቤት ስለሆነ ለግብፅ መንግሥት ፣ ለሱዳን መንግሥት እንዲሁም ለተፋሰሱ ሀገራት መንግሥታት በሙሉ መስከረም ዝናብ ጋብ ሲል ህዳሴን ስናስመርቅ የደስታችን ተካፋይ እንዲሆኑ ግብዣ አቀርብላቸዋለሁ።

የጋራ ሃብታችን ነው ፤ በጋራ እናስመርቀዋለን በጋራ እናየዋለን፣ የሚታዩ ጉዳዮች ካሉ በጋራ እናያለን።

ከድርቅ ጋር ተያይዞ ግብፅ የሚነሳው ነገር ' ድርቅ በሚሆንበት ሰዓት ግብፅ ትጎዳለች ' ነው ፤ ድርቅ የሚባለው ኢትዮጵያ ነው ኢትዮጵያ ከደረቀች ውሃዋ የለም  ማለት ነው እዛ አይደለም ድርቅ የሚባለው፤ ኢትዮጵያ ደግሞ እንዳትደርቅ Green Legacy (አረንጓዴ አሻራ) እየሰራን ነው እኛ አንደርቅም ማለት ነው እኛ ዝናብ ካገኘን እኛም ግብፅም ሱዳንም ሌሎቹም ይጠቀማሉ። በቅንነት አይተን በጋራ ለልማት እንድንሰራ አደራ እላለሁ። "
Speaking about the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed stated:

“GERD is complete. We will inaugurate GERD. There are people who once doubted its completion, saying ‘it will collapse,’ but we will see it through.”

He emphasized:

There is nothing that can stop GERD from being completed now.

If it were to collapse, it would be now — before the dry season ends.

Message to Downstream Countries
“My message to downstream countries is this: GERD is a blessing — for Sudan, for Egypt. It will not cause them any harm. Ethiopia’s development is their development. The energy generated within Ethiopia will benefit all our neighbors.”

He added:

“If our dam were truly harmful to downstream countries, then Turkey would have had an agenda too. You’ll recall when Gibe III was being built, people raised serious concerns about the impact on Turkana. And yet, today, after its completion, Lake Turkana is still filled, even overflowing.”

“Even now, if you go to Egypt, not a single liter of water has been reduced at the Aswan Dam. And moving forward, Ethiopia will never intentionally harm our Egyptian brothers. We want to grow together in cooperation.”

Peaceful Intentions and Cooperation
“We do not wish harm on Egypt or Sudan. We want to share energy, share water, and pursue shared development. If dialogue is needed, we are ready — there’s no problem. The message we heard for years when we stood up was, ‘don’t build it,’ ‘don’t proceed.’ But this was a project built on our own land, with our own money. The call was not to support us, but rather to stop us. Yet still, Ethiopia is ready to talk, negotiate, and collaborate with Egypt — no issue at all.”

“Let it be clear: GERD brings no harm to Egypt or Sudan.”

An Invitation to Celebrate Together
“Since this is a great national project and this honorable parliament represents Ethiopia, I extend an invitation to the governments of Egypt, Sudan, and all neighboring nations to come and share our joy when we inaugurate GERD during the rains of Meskerem (September). It is our collective wealth. Let’s complete it together, celebrate it together, and resolve any issues together.”

Climate and Drought Concerns
Dr. Abiy also responded to claims that GERD would cause drought in Egypt:

“What Egypt fears is drought — and rightly so. But drought begins here, in Ethiopia. If Ethiopia is dry, there’s no water to send downstream. That’s what drought really means. But we are actively working to prevent drought through the Green Legacy initiative. We are planting trees, restoring the environment. If we receive rain, we all benefit — Ethiopia, Egypt, Sudan, and others.”

“With sincerity and good faith, I call for regional cooperation for development.”
