የአሜሪካ ኤምባሲ ለኢትዮጵያውያን የሚሰጠው ቪዛ የቆይታ ጊዜ ወደ ሦስት ወር ማጠሩን አስታውቋል።

የአሜሪካ ውጭ ጉዳይ ሚኒስቴር ስደተኛ ባልሆኑ የቪዛ አመልካቾች ላይ ባደረገው የፖሊሲ ለውጥ ምክንያት ውሳኔው መተላለፉን ኤምባሲው ገልጿል።

በአዲሱ የአሜሪካ ውጭ ጉዳይ ሚኒስቴር ፖሊሲ መሠረት፤ " ከሐምሌ 1/2017 ዓ.ም. ጀምሮ ለኢትዮጵውያን የሚሰጠው ቪዛ ለአንድ ጊዜ ብቻ የሚያገለግል እና የሦስት ወር ቆይታ " እንደሚኖረው አስታውቋል።

ኤምባሲው ከሐምሌ 1/2017 ዓ.ም. በፊት የተሰጡ ቪዛዎች ባሉበት እንደሚቀጥሉ ገልጿል።

ለንግድ እና ለጉብኝት ወደ አሜሪካ የሚጓዙ ኢትዮጵያውያን የሚያገኙት ቪዛ "B1" እና "B2" በሚለው ምድብ ውስጥ ይካተታል።

እስካሁን በነበረው አሰራር በዚህ ምድብ ውስጥ የሚገቡ ተጓዦች የሚያገኙት ቪዛ ለሁለት ዓመት የሚቆይ ነበር። በተጨማሪም የቪዛው የቆይታ ጊዜ እስከሚጠናቀቅ ድረስ በተደጋጋሚ ወደ አገሪቱ እንዲገቡ ያስችል ነበር።

አሁን ይፋ የተደረገው ፖሊሲ የቪዛውን የቆይታ ጊዜ ወደ ሦስት ወር ከማሳጠር በተጨማሪ በአንድ ቪዛ ተደጋጋሚ ወደ አገሪቱ መግባትን ከልክሏል።

በአዲሱ ፖሊሲ ቪዛ የሚያገኙ ተጓዦች የቆይታ ጊዜ ባይጠናቀቅም እንኳ ከአሜሪካ ከወጡ በኋላ በዚያው ቪዛ ተመልሰው መግባት አይችሉም።

የአሜሪካ ውጭ ጉዳይ ሚኒስቴር የተለያዩ አፍሪካ አገራትን ቪዛ የቆይታ ጊዜን ወደ ሦስት ወራት ማሳጠሩን ትላንት ይፋ አድርጓል። ይህ ውሳኔ ከተላለፈባቸው ሀገራት መካከል ናይጄርያ እና ጋና ይገኙበታል
The U.S. Embassy in Ethiopia has announced that the validity period of U.S. visas issued to Ethiopian citizens has now been reduced to three months. In addition, multiple entries under a single visa will no longer be allowed.

According to the Embassy, this change is due to a policy revision by the U.S. Department of State targeting non-immigrant visa applicants.

Effective from July 8, 2025 (Hamle 1, 2017 E.C.), Ethiopians issued a U.S. visa will now receive:

A single-entry visa

A maximum stay duration of three months

The Embassy also noted that visas issued before July 8, 2025, will remain valid under the previous conditions.

The affected visa categories include B1 (business) and B2 (tourist) visas, commonly issued to Ethiopian travelers heading to the United States for short-term visits.

Previously:

The visa duration was two years

Multiple entries to the U.S. were allowed during the visa’s validity

Now:

Only one entry is permitted

Even if the three-month stay is not fully used, travelers cannot re-enter the U.S. with the same visa once they leave
